Acceptable Use Policy
Effective date: March 20, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the Terms of Service between you and Nowaffl LLC ("Exstats", "we", "us") and governs how you may use exstats.com and its data (the "Service").
1. Permitted use
The Service is designed for extension developers, marketers, and product teams to analyze publicly available browser extension data from Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons. You may:
- Create products, track your own extensions and competitors, and use the resulting analytics (performance charts, reviews, keyword rankings, alerts) for your own internal business purposes.
- Use Explorer to research the market by filtering and sorting store listings.
- Use Trends dashboards to observe store-level statistics and activity.
- Export data through officially provided export features within your plan limits.
- Share insights internally within your organization.
- Include limited data points in presentations, reports, or blog posts with attribution to Exstats.
2. Prohibited use
You agree not to:
- Resell or redistribute data: sell, sublicense, syndicate, or systematically redistribute Exstats data or datasets to third parties, whether raw or processed, without our prior written consent. This includes bulk export of Explorer or Trends data for redistribution.
- Build competing products: use the Service or its data to create or operate a product or service that is substantially similar to or competitive with Exstats, including browser extension analytics platforms, store data aggregators, or keyword ranking tools based on our data.
- Automated bulk access: scrape, crawl, or programmatically extract data from the Service outside of officially provided APIs or export features. This includes automated interaction with Explorer, Trends, product pages, or any other part of the Service. Respect all rate limits and access controls.
- Circumvent restrictions: bypass authentication, rate limits, access controls, plan limits, paywalls, or any other technical restrictions, including creating multiple free accounts to exceed plan limits.
- Abuse or overload: use the Service in a manner that degrades performance or availability for other users, including excessive API calls, bulk exports, or operations beyond your plan limits.
- Harass or harm: use the Service or its data (including reviews, developer information, or extension metadata) to stalk, harass, dox, or harm extension developers, reviewers, or any other individuals.
- Illegal activity: use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights, including Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, and Firefox Add-ons terms of service and developer policies.
- Misrepresentation: present Exstats data as official data from Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, or their respective browser extension stores. Exstats data may be estimated, modeled, aggregated, or derived and should not be represented as authoritative store metrics.
- Alert abuse: configure alerts in a manner designed to overload notification channels or to use the alert system for purposes unrelated to extension monitoring.
- Malicious use: upload or transmit malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts, or interfere with Service operation.
3. Rate limits and fair use
Each plan has usage limits — including the number of products, tracked listings, competitors, alerts, tracked keywords, and Explorer filtering capabilities — as described on our pricing page. If you consistently exceed your plan limits, we may ask you to upgrade, throttle your access, or suspend your account. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking action.
4. Data accuracy and third-party stores
The Service crawls publicly available data from browser extension stores daily. Each store reports metrics differently (e.g., Chrome shows weekly active users, Edge shows active install count, Firefox shows average daily users). We present each store's data as-is and do not combine or normalize cross-store metrics. You acknowledge that data may be incomplete, delayed, or differ from what stores report directly, and you are responsible for validating any data before making business decisions.
5. Attribution
When sharing Exstats data publicly (in articles, reports, social media, etc.), please attribute it to "Exstats (exstats.com)". You may not imply endorsement by or affiliation with Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, or their respective browser extension stores.
6. Enforcement
If we determine that you have violated this AUP, we may take action including but not limited to:
- Issuing a warning.
- Temporarily or permanently suspending your account.
- Removing content that violates this policy.
- Pursuing legal remedies.
Where practicable, we will notify you and provide an opportunity to remedy the violation before suspension or termination, unless immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
7. Reporting violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to [email protected].
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
